South Carolina - Low Country Kick-Off: A convening event of leadership from organizations serving veterans and their families in the local area
Sponsored by the Wounded Warrior Corps and the Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University (IVMF)
By way of introduction, my name is Jim McDonough and I am the Managing Director of Community Engagement and Innovation at the Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University (IVMF). I am writing today to personally invite you to join us the morning of Friday, October 2nd, 2015 as we host the first of four planned strategy development sessions with local and regional public, private, and nonprofit organizations serving transitioning service members, veterans, and their families in the South Carolina Low Country. Our goal during these sessions is to establish an operating framework - a common ground of sorts – around requirements associated with deploying the community’s resources to best serve those who serve, served, and their families. Following these strategy sessions, our intent is to deploy a multi-year, coordinated network of services, resources, and care within the AmericaServes model being replicated in communities elsewhere (NCServes and NYCServes).
IVMF and its technology partner, Unite US were awarded a planning grant from the Wounded Warrior Corps to develop a collective impact initiative aimed at coordinating high-quality, comprehensive services for transitioning service members, veterans and their families in the South Carolina Low Country region.
Request: Attend the SCServes-Low Country kick-off meeting on Friday, October 2nd from 9:30 am-12:30 pm. The target audience for the kick-off is executive leaders from area human service organizations/agencies who are committed to bringing about better services for those who served and support them. Individuals attending must be capable of setting the strategic direction for their respective organization.
*RSVP is required for all attendees. Please respond to the calendar invitation from Sarah Ahmadi to RSVP. Acceptance of the calendar invite will be considered as an RSVP. The event date, time and location are confirmed, as included in this invitation and the calendar invitation from Sarah Ahmadi.
